CHI Silk Infusion Review!

This isn’t exactly a new product. I know it’s been out for a while, but I think it’s a product worth reviewing. Basically, it’s an oil that you put in your hair (a leave in treatment) to strengthen your hair. In addition, it makes your hair silky smooth, shinier, and less frizzy.

You might be wondering what makes this product so special. And the truth is that there are other products out here like this one. You’ve got Garnier Fructis Serum Anti-Frizz Sleek & Shine and Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Serum, just to name a couple.

Garnier’s will cost you about $5 at Walmart. Pretty cheap. While Paul Mitchell’s will cost you about anywhere from $20-25 for a similar sized 5 oz bottle. This CHI version falls somewhere in the middle (obviously on the high end) costing around $18 for 6 oz. Not a bad price really when you consider what it does.

I’ve used the Garnier version in the past, and it does a decent job, although I don’t think it did much for my hair in the long run. Also, in comparison to the CHI version, the feels a lot lighter – less dense, so it gets used up more quickly. In fact, the Garnier bottle didn’t last me too long.

I’ve only used the Paul Mitchell version once, so I won’t say too much about it. But I think you’ll get just as much out the CHI version, from what I’ve read.

I got my CHI Silk Infusion online rather than in store. I’m a big fan of saving money where I can (since I’m a broke college kid haha), and I found that you could get this a lot cheaper online.

Chi Silk Infusion Oil

It’s a thick, yellowish oil that isn’t the most appealing thing, but it gets the job done. I got it online for about $27. (I tried to find exactly where and when I got it to no avail.) So even though I can’t tell you exactly how long I’ve had, I can say that I got it sometime in high school, and I’m going into my senior year of college. Clearly, I don’t use it every day, but the point is that it lasts a good while.

Using it is simple. Just pour a nickel sized amount into your hand, rub your hands together, and run your hands through your hair to apply. Instant de-frizz and shine! So check it out! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
