Hello everyone!
Revlon has revamped their line of “Age Defying” face products! Despite the name, this product can definitely benefit anyone who is looking for an awesome new concealer.
Price
It’s a little pricey for a drugstore product. I got it at Target for 12.99 (although you can probably find it at Walmart or another drugstore for a little cheaper)!
So the biggest question that comes to my mind when buying drugstore products that are more than about $10 is, is it worth the price? (Then again, that’s probably something that should come to my mind when I’m buying anything – especially makeup..) And the answer to that question, at least for this new Revlon concealer, is absolutely.
Coverage
This is a pretty full coverage concealer, so if you’re looking to cover up acne scars or that little bit of redness that won’t go away, then look no further! Personally I don’t have a lot of acne, but I do tend to have quite a bit of redness around my cheeks and my nose. This is perfect for that if I’m going to be using a light coverage foundation.
Uses
Most of the time, I use this for my under eye area. This concealer has a pretty yellow undertone to it, which makes it perfect for concealing those under eye circles. This is by far my favorite drugstore concealer for this purpose that I have tried. It does an amazing job at brightening that entire area!
Consistency
This is a pretty thick concealer, and when I say that.. I mean it! If you’ve ever tried the Hard Candy concealer, you’ll know that it also is a thick concealer. The Hard Candy concealer is thick as in “a little goes a long way”, but at the same time it’s pretty liquid-y. This is not the kind of experience you’ll have with the Revlon Age Defying concealer. I would compare it more to the consistency of a creamy foundation.
Skin Types
Because of how thick this concealer is, I’d say that people with dry skin should probably stay away from this. I have pretty combination-oily skin, and I even think that this concealer is a little on the dry side. However, this doesn’t equate to being cakey!
Cons
The concealer comes in a squeeze tube that has a foam applicator on it. Despite appearances, the applicator is pretty inflexible. It’s nothing the foamy-sponge it appears to be. This being said, the concealer does have a tendency to dry up on the applicator (see picture below), which means that you lose some product there (aka, you’re losing money).
Because of this applicator/losing product issue, I don’t tend to use the applicator at all. I wish that Revlon had nixed the applicator and simply used something like the Hard Candy concealer container, which is just a standard squeeze tube.
Overall Thoughts
Despite some of the drawbacks, I think that this a very good concealer, especially for being from the drugstore. Of course, as I mentioned before, it is a little on the pricey side, but I would definitely say that the price is worth it!
