Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat Review

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat Review

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat Review

One of my readers has made a request for a cheap nail polish that would pair well with Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat, so I’m working on a post for that but, as it involves lots of polish testing, that post is going to be a while. In the meantime, I’ve been using this top coat all the while, so I thought I was whip up this review for you!

I guess if you’re looking for just a simple answer on what this top coat is, then all you need to know is that it’s amazing! I love it!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Step 2 - 101 Top Coat

I’ve tried a lot of different top coats – and my fair share of base coats too. This one tops them all. Never have I ever had a Sinful Colors nail polish last me 4 full days with minimal chipping.. That’s pretty much a “miracle” for me! (I guess there’s a little sneak preview of the post to come. And no worries, I’ll link the post here when it’s finished.)

OPI is known in the nail polish world as a high quality nail polish. It’s what you’ll see at the nail salons most of the time, along with Orly and Essie and some other brands. I’ve never had too much luck with their top coats though. I have a top coat from them that I’ve paired with Orly’s Bonder Base Coat and still polish only lasts me a couple days.

The Good

Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat is pretty thick but it seems to dry pretty quickly from the experiences I’ve had with it. And from the experiences I’ve had with it, it really is something of a miracle. $8-$10 is a little pricey as something you pick up from Walmart or Target, but it’s right on par with the prices of OPI, Orly, and Essie. It’s well worth the price in my opinion.

The Bad

If I had one thing to complain about, it would be that it’s easy to get those little air bubbles in the polish that stay there even when dried. Taking your time applying the top coat seems to help with this issue, but I will be looking to find other ways to minimize this. The bubbles to me aren’t a huge deal if it means that I don’t have to apply polish every other day. If anyone has any tips on this, please let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear your thoughts.
