60 pounds in 6 months. So I know exactly what this sounds like. It’s sounds like I’m going to go on some super long tangent about how losing weight changes your life, and you think I’m going to try to inspire you enough to make you want to purchase some product. Well that’s not what’s going on here. This is a little series that I’m going to do over the next few weeks telling you how I lost the weight. I’m a real person, and I did it. And you can do it to. You don’t need anything fancy, but beware, doing what I did wasn’t easy. So if you’re the person looking for the magic bullet to lose weight, then don’t waste your time here. But really, unless you’re going to get gastric bypass surgery, then you’re wasting your time looking anywhere because there is no magic bullet.
That being said, if you really want to do it and you take some of the things I tell you to heart and put them into action, I believe that you can lose the weight, just like I did.
Can you do it?
You might be wondering why I titled this part of the series “Can you do it?”. Because the answer is “of course, you can”. The reason why I used this phrase is because anyone can do almost anything (within reason of course). The problem most people have with losing weight is that they CAN do it, but they don’t WANT to do it. Well, they want to do it but just not enough to do what it takes.
If you want to lose weight, you really have to want it. Why? Because it’s not going to be an easy process. I feel like the push for me to lose weight fell into one moment. After my freshman year of college, I got home and was in my bathroom looking in the mirror at my stomach, and I just couldn’t take it. I felt so gross, and I couldn’t believe what I’d let myself become. I honestly can’t believe I’m putting this out there (because like I said, I’m a real person, and I’m not exactly sure how many people in my life read my blog), but I finally hit rock bottom at 217 pounds. God. I shudder just thinking about it. Now, it’s so hard for me to wrap my head around. I was SO overweight. At 5’4″, a healthy weight range is supposedly 108-145 pounds.
Being 70ish pounds overweight, I just knew that I had to do something about it. At the time I was only 18 years old.. I couldn’t let myself be fat for the rest of my life. Yes, I said it. I was fat. People seem to be so uncomfortable with that term, but it’s something that I’ve learned to embrace. It’s so amazing to know what I used to be and what I am today. From that moment on, my lifestyle took a complete 180. And that’s not necessarily what I’m going to be recommending here, but I’m telling you about how I lost the weight, remember?
So I know that this post doesn’t give too much information, but it serves as a little introduction as to why I’m doing this. Maybe knowing where I’m coming from will make that information much more valuable to you, and if even one person can learn from my experience (the successes and the failures), then it will have been worthwhile to write. I hope you can tell that I’m actually really excited to be doing this little series! And here’s to show you the difference it made.

Challenge Time
Here’s my challenge for you: When you’re eating what you normally eat this week, just think about what you’re eating. Try to be conscious of what you eat. And if you’re up to it, try walking 30 minutes to an hour 3 times this week.
If you take anything away from this, take this: whether you succeed or fail in your weight loss is up to you. You have to want it bad enough. No one can tell you what to do. Especially not me. BUT, I can promise you that it’ll all be worthwhile. So I hope you continue reading, and in the next post of this series, I want to talk about dieting and about how much you eat can really affect your weight loss.
Be sure to bookmark this page as I will continue to update it with my new posts about my journey.
