CoverGirl Bombshell Shine Shadow in Ooh La Lilac Review

CoverGirl Bombshell Shine Shadow in Ooh La Lilac Review

Hey everyone! I have another product review for you today on these beautiful, shimmery liquid eye shadows that I saw at CVS. I got my CoverGirl Bombshell Shine Shadow in the color Ooh La Lila. They also have Ice Queen (a shimmery white), Color Me Honey (a metallic green), Platinum Club (a shiny, dark gray), Gold Goddess (a shimmering gold), and Copper Fling (a nice pink-tinted copper).

This is a swatch of Ooh La Lilac. I had to swipe my fingers over my hand a couple times to get good pigmentation because it goes on a little light, but it builds up nicely.

On the left next to the swatch of Ooh La Lilac is a swatch of a similar (darker) shade by Urban Decay called Rapture. (This is an exclusive shade from UD’s Vice Palette)

This eyeshadow definitely needs a primer, which in my opinion takes away from the idea of it being a drugstore item. I was actually pretty disappointed in the performance of the eye shadow without it. The fact that the eyeshadow is so liquidy and doesn’t ever really seem to completely “set” without primer is probably why it creases so much and so quickly.

On the flip side however, if you use this eye shadow with a primer, then I think you’ll like the results you get. I started to see just the tiniest bit of creasing at the end of the day but that was over 14 hours later! This isn’t something I’d consider as a problem.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, I think that for the price of about $6.99 (depending on where you buy it), its not bad. But if you’re going to buy an individual eye shadow from the drugstore, then you’re probably better off getting one of L’Oreal’s Infallible eye shadows. They’re a little more expensive (around $8.99), but you’ll get better pigmentation, color selection, and longevity.
