It’s been too long since I went drugstore makeup shopping, so recently when I was in Walmart, I decided to take a look! I found one of my favorite foundations (Maybelline Fit Me) in a new version: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation! In addition this this matte/poreless version there is also a dewy version: Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation. As I’m a fan of the matte I look, I picked up the former.
I was very excited to try this foundation, and I can safely say I was not disappointed! It’s a very liquidy (or maybe runny is a better word) foundation; it’s very similar to the consistency of the original Fit Me. I tend to like this as it makes the foundation easy to spread thin for a light look or build up for a heavier coverage.
I’m sorry to say that I haven’t been breaking out recently, which means that I’m not sure exactly how great the coverage will be for those with acne. What I can say is that for my small blemishes a light coat covers them right up, along with any redness.
This foundation definitely does have a very matte look, which may not be suitable for some people who want a very natural look. Natural skin is neither matte nor dewy.
As far as the poreless claim is concerned, I’m a little on the fence. I do think that it does minimize pores to some extent, although I’m not sure how much of that is due the foundation itself or the fact that it is a matte foundation (I find that matte foundations usually hide pores much better than dewy ones which seem to draw attention to them).
If you’re interested in the foundation, you should definitely go pick it up, especially considering it’s under $6 at Walmart! Doesn’t get much cheaper than that. Happy hunting!
