I am happy to report that this post was requested via Facebook by Magda from Poland! She wanted to know about the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 102 Warm Ivory. Lots of products that are available in the United States don’t have the same availability in other parts of the world and vice versa. It can be really hard to tell if a foundation is your color over the internet!
So here I’m going to be comparing the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in 102 to the L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation in W1-2.
First off, the consistency of the foundation is very different. The Rimmel foundation is a lot like a lotion in its consistency and it actually really reminds me of one, so I’d say it’s a little on the thick side, but it’s not a bad thing. The L’Oreal foundation on the other hand is very thin and buildable. Honestly, as far as coverage and the way that it looks, I actually prefer the Rimmel foundation (and it’s cheaper!).
But what we really want to focus on is the color differences, so what better to use than pictures – they are worth a thousand words!

You can see that they look pretty different from the outside.

And basically the same thing when I put them next to each other on my paw palette.

Here are just a couple of swatches on my hand. Neither one really looks like my color before they’re blended. A little note here, but I think the color of foundations are a little more flexible than people think.

Blended out. They still look different. But not quite so much. The Rimmel 102 definitely looks like a better match for my skin tone, but I’ll get much paler than this!

Once I applied it I could really see the difference, until I put on my cornstarch setting powder. There wasn’t too much of a difference then. I’m wearing the L’Oreal W1-2 on the left and Rimmel 102 on the right.
Hopefully you can tell from the pictures, but the L’Oreal W1-2 is definitely a little bit lighter than the Rimmel 102, but I don’t think the difference is huge, especially considering what they look like next to each other before you blend. A better match for the L’Oreal W1-2 would probably be the Rimmel 100 Ivory, but I’m not 100% sure.. I hope this helps Magda!
