You don’t have to spend a lot of money on makeup to look good. A lot of times you can get close duplicates of products or just plain awesome drugstore products. Here are some tips to help you out.
# 1
Look for makeup in unconventional places like a flea market. You can get some great deals on drugstore makeup at these kinds of places (nail polish too!). The place I went this past weekend, they actually had Sally Hansen Nail Effects, which I definitely would not have expected.

Look for makeup on sale (and sometimes even clearance) at places like CVS or Walgreens. A lot of times makeup at these places will be more expensive than at Walmart, but if you get lucky, sometimes they have some great deals on different makeup brands.

Look for dupes! Sometimes there’s a product out there at a much cheaper price than higher end products that is so similar it’s not worth the extra money. In fact, if you’re on a budget that’s almost always the case. Here’s an awesome dupe list from Temptalia. Another great tool you should never forget – Google!

Search online for makeup you can make yourself. I’m not saying you should try to make your own foundations or anything but something as simple as a setting powder (see the one I use here) or a bronzer can be fairly easy to make!

Stick with drugstore mascaras! Okay.. So I might get in a little trouble with some people on this one because they swear by that $24 mascara they buy every couple months. I’m sorry, but I just do not think that high end mascara is worth the price for MOST people. Notice I emphasized the “most”. There are some people who are going to need the extra volume you might get from a certain mascara, but for most, there are some awesome drugstore mascaras that will do a fantastic job. Two of the best (in my opinion) are Almay’s Triple Coat Effect Mascara and CoverGirl’s Clump Crusher.
