A lot of my friends have been asking me what eyeliner is best, in my opinion. So today’s post will be to address this question since I’m sure some of you may have the same inquiry.
What Eyeliner Is Best
There are three basic types of eyeliners (and of course some subcategories within each of these, but I wont be focusing too much on that).
# 1 Eyeliner Pencils
These are going to best if you want to tight line (basically line your lower or waterline). I’d almost always recommend going with a soft kohl pencil because you’ll get a nice smooth line.
Some people seem to prefer the retractable pencils, but I have to find one that I really like. They just don’t seem to last.
# 2 Liquid Eyeliner
DO NOT USE A LIQUID LINER ON YOUR WATERLINE!!
Sorry for that, but if you’re reading this then you’re probably pretty new to makeup and don’t know. You have no idea how many times I’ve been asked if you can use liquid on your waterline. It’s a terrible idea and you’ll just get it all in your eyes.
Basically, you should only use liquid eyeliner to line your eyes on the top of your eyelid.
# 3 Gel Eyeliner
Now here’s where things get a little fuzzy.. Some people like to use this to line their waterline. It’s not something that I would recommend, but you can do it.
If it were me, I’d leave the gel liner out of it all together… but you should really use this for the same things you’d use a liquid eyeliner for. Some people just prefer one over the other. Personally, I prefer a liquid liner pen because it works for me.
